Many worry that incorporation will mean big property tax increases.
This is simply not true.
A careful analysis by the Municipal Association of South Carolina has determined that Indian Land already has a surplus of revenue to run its own town.
Let’s keep our tax money
in Indian Land.
That’s where it’s needed most.
Indian Land is one of the fastest growing communities in America. This means that our education funds need to be spent locally, not in distant corners of the county.
As long as Lancaster County is in control we will not have a fair say in how our schools are managed. The first step is giving Indian Land a voice through incorporation.
Our current situation is simply unfair.
Prior attempts at Indian Land incorporation have encountered road blocks due to limited resources. This group has learned from those experiences and has assembled a team with diverse expertise in politics, municipal expansion, law, corporate management, finance and more. Our path is clear.
Our goal is achievable.
We will deliver.
Indian Land is ready to control its own destiny. Our community's rapid growth has created a vital need for positive management. The residents of Indian Land want a beautiful and prosperous town (not a string of gas stations, storage units and industrial sites).
Make a difference in the future! Join us in our effort today!
We propose a town where citizens enjoy a safe, beautiful and prosperous community because they are empowered through incorporation to make those decisions necessary to thoughtfully plan its future.
This effort is driven by your friends and neighbors.
There are real costs for surveys, applications, legal fees, etc.
We need Indian Land residents to donate to the cause.
Currently, the residents of Indian Land have little say in growth which means we have little say in traffic. The Town of Indian Land would have a loud and authoritative voice to deliver solutions to a problem that seems to grow every day.
We don't want Indian Land to look like Independence or South Blvd. We hear that many residents agree.
Let's manage our growth and stop the sprawl.
